Napanee rolls over Campbellford, 5-1

The Campbellford Rebels had trouble finding ways to stop the Napanee Raiders, which beat Rebels, 5-1.

Napanee was led by goalie Tomo Mikuljan, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Mikuljan certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.73 entering the contest.

The Raiders' penalty kill excelled, as Napanee gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Raiders stifled Campbellford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rebels were unable to stop Napanee from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. Napanee was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes.

The Raiders were helped by Aidan McFarland, who had one goal and one assist. McFarland scored 7:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Napanee. Justynn Steven assisted on the tally. Napanee additionally got points from Tyler Romain, who also registered one goal and one assist and Riley Steeves, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Napanee also got a goal from Cullen Hinds as well. More assists for Napanee came via Austin Boulard, who had three and Matthew Muller and Jordan Cannons, who contributed one each.

Campbellford's offense rang up 32 shots on Napanee's net.

The Raiders registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Tyler Freemen recorded 46 saves for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
