The Gananoque Islanders and the Amherstview Jets skate to 6-6 (OT) tie

Behind two goals from Jordan Howe and two goals and one assist from Wyatt Crampton, Amherstview tied Gananoque 6-6 (OT).

The Islanders forced the Jets' goalies to work without much rest, totaling 45 shots and forcing 39 saves. Adam Redgate made 12 stops and Ryan Kaszuba made 27. Gananoque's penalty kill unit could not stop Amherstview's power play, which converted on four of five opportunities.

The Islanders were led by Ryosuke Kabayashi, who tallied two goals and one assist. Kabayashi scored the first of his two goals at 31 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Gananoque. Parker Grant provided the assist. Kabayashi's next tally made the score 5-4 Gananoque with 1:30 left in the second period. Grant picked up the assist. Gananoque also got points from Phil Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Gananoque included Craig Cross, Drew Marquette, and Connor Smith, who each put in one. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Cole Serson, Chris Boushy, Matt Carter, Nick Kirkby, and Brody Cross, who contributed one each.

The Jets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Amherstview kept Gananoque's goalie busy throughout the game, and Paul Mazzolin made 43 saves on 49 shots.

Amherstview additionally got points from Brett Yake, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Crampton, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Amherstview also got a goal from Joey Mayer as well. More assists for Amherstview came via Dorian Overland, who had two, Cody Jodoin, who had three, and Adam Alcorn, Max Brunner, and Cody Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Islanders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
