Lowery nets hat trick, leads Port Hope to 10-1 win over Campbellford

A hat trick by Cameron Lowery was the highlight in Panthers' 10-1 win against the Campbellford Rebels.

Lowery got on the scoresheet 3:44 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:39 into the third and at 19:53 into the third.

The Port Hope Panthers forced Campbellford's netminders to work in net, totaling 63 shots and forcing 53 saves. Tyler Freemen made 43 stops and Cole Mahoney made 10. Port Hope outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Panthers average 5.6 goals per contest.

Port Hope also got points from Andrew Gurr, who also grabbed three goals and two assists, Jon Campbell, who also had one goal and one assist, Hunter Baker, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Dalton Lawrence, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Evan Foley, who had three and Cameron McGill, Keegan Ferguson, and Matthew Cavanaugh, who contributed one each.

The Rebels found themselves short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

Campbellford was led by Jackob Bennett, who scored the team's only goal. Bennett scored 11:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Port Hope. Graiden Maynard assisted on the tally.

Port Hope's Aaron Young stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rebels registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
