The Gananoque Islanders and the Napanee Raiders skate to 3-3 (OT) tieGananoque Recreation Centre Sun, Nov 15, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Gananoque trailed Napanee by two in the third period, but the Raiders did not give up and the game ended in a 3-3 (OT) tie. The Islanders forced Napanee goalie Tomo Mikuljan to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Gananoque was led by Ryosuke Kabayashi, who grabbed three goals. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Kory Hubers, Hunter Drew, Parker Grant, Phil Smith, Quinn Cota, and Brody Cross, who each chipped in one. The Raiders managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Napanee finished below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 48 shots on the Islanders' net. Napanee was led by Tyler Romain, who registered two goals. Romain scored the first of his two goals at 3:47 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Chris Rogalsky provided the assist. Romain's next tally made the score 3-1 Napanee with 13:09 left in the third period. Cullen Hinds assisted on the tally. Riley Steeves also scored for Napanee. More assists for Napanee came via Zack Revell and Aidan McFarland, who contributed one each. Cota recorded 45 saves for Gananoque. The Islanders incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Raiders' Mikuljan stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Napanee registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
