Campbellford falls to Gananoque after surprising comebackGananoque Recreation Centre Sun, Nov 08, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gananoque Islanders rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-3 win over the Campbellford Rebels. Gananoque never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Islanders was down 3-0 after a goal by Campbellford's Brenan Rylott at 1:04 in the second period. Gananoque knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Parker Grant at 11:50 in the second period. The Islanders got the game winner at 18:18 in the second period on a goal by Grant. Sam Wilson had two goals to lead Gananoque to victory. The Islanders kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Mahoney made 36 saves on 41 shots. Gananoque also got points from Grant, who also had one goal and one assist and Tyson OToole, who also registered one goal and one assist. Gananoque also got a goal from Brenden Lochead as well. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Matt Carter, who had two and Duncan McNaughton, Hunter Drew, Ryosuke Kabayashi, Quinn Cota, and Brody Cross, who contributed one each. Gananoque was unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Campbellford was helped by Travis Bennett, who tallied one goal. Bennett scored 11:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford. Koel Newton also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Austin Fry and Graiden Maynard, who each chipped in one. Quinn Cota made 29 saves for the Islanders on 32 shots. Gananoque incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rebels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
