Doherty's hat trick boosts Campbellford over Picton, 4-1Campbellford-Seymour CC Sat, Nov 07, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Jeremiah Doherty was the highlight in Rebels' 4-1 win against the Picton Pirates. Doherty got on the scoresheet 14:41 into the third period. He then added goals at 18:03 into the third and at 18:45 into the third.Picton was stymied by the Campbellford Rebels' netminder Cole Mahoney, who stopped 39 shots during the victory. Mahoney certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.05 entering the contest. Campbellford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Picton power plays. Campbellford also got points from Riley McGuire, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Jacob Trotter, who had two and Austin Fry, Koel Newton, Robby Ellis, and Grant Fry, who each chipped in one. The Pirates managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Picton ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. The Pirates forced the Rebels goalie Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Picton was led by Gavin Ronan, who scored the team's only goal. Ronan scored 7:05 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Nate Kellar picked up the assist.
