Huge game by Overland boosts Amherstview over Picton, 6-3WJ Henderson Rec. Centre Sun, Nov 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Dorian Overland had one goal and two assists to lead the Amherstview Jets to a 6-3 victory over the Picton Pirates. Overland beat Dustin Myskiw with a shot 19:23 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Amherstview. Max Brunner picked up the assist. Overland dished an assist on Adam Alcorn's goal that made the score 3-2 Amherstview at 17:12 into the second period. He added another helper on Dawson Chard's goal that made the score 5-3 Amherstview at 6:19 into the third period.Amherstview additionally got points from Alcorn, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brunner, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Joey Mayer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Amherstview also got a goal from Cody Smith as well. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Brett Yake, Cody Jodoin, and Jordan Howe, who contributed one each and Alex Rice and Cosimo Morin, who each chipped in two. Picton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Pirates forced Amherstview goalie Adam Redgate to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Picton was helped by Mitchell Merry, who tallied one goal. Merry scored on the power play 18:00 into the second period to make the score 3-3. The Pirates had gotten the advantage when the Jets' Perry Tristan was sent off for roughing. Mitch Burke assisted on the tally. Picton also got points from Will Harrison, who also had one goal and one assist and Nate Kellar, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Picton came via Liam Hunter, Tye Eaton, and Gerald Bilker, who contributed one each. Adam Redgate made 30 saves for Amherstview on 33 shots. The Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Myskiw rejected 22 shots on goal for Picton. The Pirates incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
