Port Hope rolls over Campbellford, 12-1

The Port Hope Panthers had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 12-1 win over the Campbellford Rebels.

Evan Wasylyk had a great game for Port Hope, netting two goals. Wasylyk scored at 4:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Hope and again while 4:45 into the third to make the score 10-1 Port Hope.

Campbellford's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as the Rebels let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

The Panthers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Port Hope's offense rang up 48 shots on Campbellford's net. The Panthers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Port Hope averages 5.1 goals per game.

Port Hope additionally got points from Blane Gaudon, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Dan Lagrois, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Dalton Lawrence, who also had two goals and three assists, Evan Foley, who also registered two goals and one assist, Shawn Mackie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Mike Smith, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Port Hope also got a goal from Hunter Baker as well. More assists for Port Hope came via Keegan Ferguson, who had two, Cameron McGill, who had five, and Cameron Lowery and Sheldon Calbury, who contributed one each.

The Rebels were led by Ethan McDougall, who scored the team's only goal. McDougall scored 13:35 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Port Hope. Grant Fry picked up the assist.

Calbury recorded 20 saves for the Panthers. Port Hope incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Campbellford's Tyler Freemen stopped 36 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Rebels incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
