Napanee completes comeback, beats Amherstview, 8-6Strathcona Paper Tue, Oct 27, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders climbed out of a four-goal hole to beat the Amherstview Jets, 8-6. Napanee never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Raiders was down 6-2 after a power play goal by Amherstview's Brett Yake at 11:37 in the second period. Napanee knotted things up at 6-6 on a goal by Matt Tedford at 7:53 in the third period. The Raiders netted the game winner at 14:29 in the third period on a goal by Tedford. Riley Steeves was all over the ice for Napanee, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Steeves scored the first of his two goals short handed at 1:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Amherstview. The Raiders found themselves down a man on Nicolas Schuler's slashing. Aidan McFarland picked up the assist. Steeves' next tally short handed made the score 6-5 Amherstview with 1:01 left in the second period. Zack Revell provided the assist. Napanee forced the Jets goalie Ryan Kaszuba to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Raiders outdid their season average for goals scored. Napanee averages 4.7 goals per game. The Raiders cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on four chances.
