Campbellford falls to Amherstview in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Amherstview Jets pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Campbellford Rebels on a clutch goal by Cody Jodoin.

Amherstview got the win thanks to a great game by Brett Yake, who had one goal and two assists. Yake scored 3:25 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jodoin assisted on the tally.

The Jets forced Campbellford goalie Cole Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Amherstview additionally got points from Jodoin, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Amherstview included Adam Alcorn, Wyatt Crampton, and Dawson Chard, who each put in one. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Jordan Howe, who had three and Cody Smith and Joey Mayer, who each chipped in one.

The Rebels kept Amherstview's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Kaszuba made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Campbellford was helped by Jeremiah Doherty, who registered one goal. Doherty scored on the power play 18:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford. The Rebels had gained a power play chance when Alcorn was whistled for slashing. Travis Bennett picked up the assist. Campbellford also had goals scored by Koel Newton and Robby Ellis, who scored one goal each. More assists for Campbellford came via Austin Fry, Riley McGuire, Alex Buchanan, and Blaine Thompson, who contributed one each.

The Jets incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Amherstview ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Konner Burtenshaw was ejected from the game. Campbellford's Mahoney stopped 34 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Rebels incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For Campbellford, Newton was ejected from the game.
