A stellar performance between the pipes by Quinn Cota helped the Gananoque Islanders defeat the Port Hope Panthers, 2-1. Gananoque was led by Matt Carter, who grabbed one goal. Carter scored 1:25 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Gananoque. Hunter Drew assisted on the tally. The Islanders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Hope power plays. Gananoque was held below its usual level of production. The Islanders put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. Drew Marquette also scored for Gananoque. Other players who recorded assists for Gananoque were Phil Smith, who had one and Tyson OToole, who had two. Port Hope excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Panthers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Port Hope averages 5.1 goals per game. The Panthers forced Gananoque goalie Cota to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Port Hope was led by Evan Wasylyk, who scored the team's only goal. Wasylyk scored 12:44 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dan Lagrois picked up the assist.
