Napanee downs Gananoque, 6-3Strathcona Paper Tue, Oct 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders won 6-3 over the Gananoque Islanders. Napanee put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Gananoque to score on any of its four power plays. The Islanders were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Napanee eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The Raiders were helped by Austin Boulard, who registered one goal and one assist. Boulard scored 10:52 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Napanee. Chris Rogalsky picked up the assist. Napanee additionally got points from Cullen Hinds, who also had one goal and one assist. Napanee also had goals scored by Jordan Cannons, who had two and Matt Tedford and Aidan McFarland, who each put in one. More assists for Napanee came via Ryley Richardson and Riley Steeves, who each chipped in one. Gananoque kept Napanee's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tomo Mikuljan made 34 saves on 37 shots. The Islanders were led by David Leung, who finished with two goals. Leung scored the first of his two goals at 18:41 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Napanee. Johnny Humber APM assisted on the tally. Leung's next tally made the score 5-3 Napanee with 17:37 left in the third period. Matt Carter picked up the assist. Gananoque also got a goal from Phil Smith as well. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Tyson OToole and Connor Smith, who contributed one each. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. John Gilmer rejected 33 shots on goal for Gananoque. The Islanders incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gananoque ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chase Hawley was ejected from the game.
