Lawrence's big game bests Gananoque in 6-3 Port Hope win

Dalton Lawrence was all over the ice for the Port Hope Panthers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Port Hope's 6-3 win over the Gananoque Islanders.

Lawrence scored at 17:21 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Port Hope and again while 5:08 into the third to make the score 5-3 Port Hope.

The Panthers' offense rang up 60 shots on Gananoque's net.

Port Hope additionally got points from Dan Lagrois, who also registered one goal and two assists and Evan Wasylyk, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Port Hope included Evan Foley and Mike Smith, who each put in one. More assists for Port Hope came via Blane Gaudon, who had two and Cameron Lowery, Andrew Gurr, Cameron McGill, Jon Campbell, Austin Jeffers, and Stavros Soilis, who each chipped in one.

The Islanders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Gananoque was led by Brenden Lochead, who tallied one goal and one assist. Lochead scored 1:04 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Ryosuke Kabayashi provided the assist. Gananoque also got points from Kabayashi, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyson OToole also scored for Gananoque. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Drew Marquette, who had two and Nic Stafford and Matt Carter, who contributed one each.

Aaron Young made 15 saves for Port Hope on 18 shots. The Panthers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. John Gilmer recorded 54 saves for the Islanders. Gananoque incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
