Barron's big game bests Notre Dame College in 4-1 St. Andrews College winLaBrier Family Arena Fri, Jan 29, 2016 The St. Andrews College Saints' Morgan Barron had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over Notre Dame College. Barron scored at 38 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Andrews College and again while short handed 2:20 into the third to make the score 4-0 St. Andrews College.Notre Dame College's power play was ineffective against St. Andrews College's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Saints stifled Notre Dame College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Andrews College kept Notre Dame College's goalie busy throughout the game, and Reid Cooper made 30 saves on 34 shots. The Saints found themselves short handed often, totaling 20 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. St. Andrews College additionally got points from Jacob Miller, who also had one goal and one assist. Kyle Hunter also scored for St. Andrews College. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Mitchell Martan, William Sirman, and Reid Yochim, who contributed one each. Notre Dame College found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against St. Andrews College's defense. Notre Dame College was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes. Cole Chapman recorded 11 saves for the Saints. St. Andrews College registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
