A four-goal first period deficit cost Detroit Central Catholic, which could not recover and fell to the St. Andrews College Saints, 6-3.

St. Andrews College excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Saints forced Detroit Central Catholic goalie Mitchell Kieffer to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

St. Andrews College was helped by Morgan Barron, who finished with one goal. Barron scored 51 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Andrews College. Ryan OConnell picked up the assist. St. Andrews College also got a goal from Lucas Thorne as well. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Otto Saarimaa, who had two and Noah Lugli, William Sirman, Alex MacDonald, Jacob Ledson, and Regan Kimens, who contributed one each.

Detroit Central Catholic put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Saints to score on any of their three power plays.
