Belle Tire beats St. Andrews College 5-4 after comeback scare

The St. Andrews College Saints tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but Belle Tire held on for a 5-4 victory.

Belle Tire took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have St. Andrews College storm back on a Corey Andonovski goal 14:00 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Belle Tire was sparked by Trevor Coykendall, who registered one goal and one assist. Coykendall scored 16:50 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Belle Tire. AJ Wolfe assisted on the tally.

The Saints were unable to stop Belle Tire from sending pucks towards the net, and Belle Tire eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Belle Tire additionally got points from Wolfe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Belle Tire included Jonathan Pensler, Matt Kindred, and Hunter Wendt, who scored one goal each. In addition, Belle Tire received assists from Mason Vaughan, who had one and Riley Doyon, who had two.

St. Andrews College's offense rang up 32 shots on Belle Tire's net.

The Saints were helped by Regan Kimens, who had one goal. Kimens scored 9:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Belle Tire. Ryan OConnell picked up the assist. St. Andrews College also got points from Andonovski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Andrews College also had goals scored by Morgan Barron and Alex MacDonald, who each put in one. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Lucas Thorne, Mitchell Martan, Reid Yochim, and Jacob Miller, who contributed one each.

Andrew Kormos recorded 28 saves for Belle Tire. Belle Tire incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. St. Andrews College's Kristian Hufsky stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Saints incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
