St. Andrews College erases deficit to stun Bridgton Academy, 5-4

Undaunted by a three-goal deficit, the St. Andrews College Saints battled back to claim a 5-4 victory over Bridgton Academy.

St. Andrews College never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Saints trailed 4-1 after a goal by Bridgton Academy's Dany Coulombe at 19:10 in the second period. St. Andrews College tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kyle Hunter at 11:38 in the third period. The Saints netted the game winner at 19:43 in the third period on a goal by Hunter.

St. Andrews College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bridgton Academy to score on any of its five power plays. The Saints were held below their usual level of production. St. Andrews College puts an average of 7.3 pucks into the net per game. The Saints kept Bridgton Academy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Piechota made 45 saves on 50 shots.

St. Andrews College was led by Alex MacDonald, who racked up three goals and one assist. Bridgton Academy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. Bridgton Academy did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Bridgton Academy averages 6.5 goals per game. Bridgton Academy was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Bridgton Academy additionally got points from Olivier Roy, who also registered one goal and one assist and Joseph Paolilo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Colin Quinn also scored for Bridgton Academy. Other players who recorded assists for Bridgton Academy were Shane Foye, Tomas Kadlec, and Daniel Whritenour, who each chipped in one.
