Whitby downs Hamilton, 7-2

Kyle Musselman registered two points to lead the Whitby Dunlops to a 7-2 victory over the Hamilton Steelhawks.

Whitby forced Hamilton's goaltenders to work without much rest, firing 37 shots and forcing 30 saves. Tim Rogers made 26 stops and Ben Goss made four. The Dunlops stifled the Steelhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Whitby additionally got points from Darren Doherty, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Matthew Baxter, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Shane Terry, who also had one goal and one assist. Whitby also got a goal from Brett McConnachie as well. More assists for Whitby came via Chris Purves, who had two and Mike Pain, Will Jones, Corey Tamblyn, and Peter MacKellar, who each chipped in one.

Hamilton was helped by Gary Clarke, who registered one goal. Clarke scored 3:53 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kevin Rebelo assisted on the tally. Stuart Isnor also scored for Hamilton. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Cody Wilson, Frankie Grandits, and Kyle McQuade, who contributed one each.

Jason Guy recorded 28 saves for Whitby. The Dunlops incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Steelhawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
