Thorold erases deficit to stun Brantford, 5-4Brantford Civic Centre Fri, Nov 13, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Thorold Athletics rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Brantford Blast. Thorold let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Athletics took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Chris Risi at 2:34 in the first period. Thorold went down 4-2 after Brantford's Cameron Sault put the puck home at 19:21 in the second period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Risi at 1:35 in the third, the Athletics got the game-winner from Risi at 7:14 in the third period. Thorold forced the Blast goalie Anthony Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Thorold also got points from Steven Dol, who also registered one goal and two assists and Fraser Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Thorold came via John Falzoi, who had two and JJ Martin, Steve Zmudcynski, and Tory McLean, who contributed one each. Brantford was led by Jamie Williams, who racked up one goal and one assist. Williams scored 10:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Andrew Marcoux picked up the assist. Brantford also had goals scored by Derek Medeiros and Dustin Alcock, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brantford received assists from Mike Charbonneau, who had one and Dave Russell, who had three. Matt Sagrott rejected 25 shots on goal for the Athletics. Thorold incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marshall recorded 32 saves for the Blast. Brantford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
