Antonides leads Huntsville to shutout victory over Caledon

The Huntsville Otters used a sparkling performance by Nathan Antonides to take down the Caledon Golden Hawks, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Huntsville's 7-0 shutout victory.

The Otters were sparked by Jake McIntyre, who grabbed one goal and one assist. McIntyre scored 3:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Andy Baker picked up the assist.

Huntsville forced Caledon's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 50 shots and forcing 43 saves. Sam Procopio made 12 stops and Brendan Macham made 31. The Otters' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Caledon power plays. Huntsville bested its season scoring average. This season, the Otters average 3.9 goals per contest.

Huntsville also got points from Baker, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Kyle Burns, who also registered one goal and one assist. Huntsville also had goals scored by Jay Dix, Curtis Ballantyne, Nathan Zantingh, and Sye Ellard, who scored one goal each. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Ty Traynor, who had two and Josh Zantingh, Tanner Hamilton, and Tyler Brown, who each chipped in one.

The Golden Hawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Caledon averages 3.6 goals per game. The Golden Hawks kept Huntsville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Antonides made 42 saves on 42 shots.

The Otters incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Caledon ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Golden Hawks, Daniel Cafagna was ejected from the game.
