Alliston blows out Erin, 4-0

The Alliston Hornets were firing on all cylinders against the Erin Shamrocks, and when the final buzzer sounded Hornets emerged with a 4-0 win.

Alliston's penalty kill excelled, as the Hornets gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Alliston was paced by Devon Gillham, who grabbed one goal. Gillham scored on the power play 12:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. The Hornets earned a power play opportunity when Connor Mortimer was put in the box for slashing. Mitch Livingston provided the assist.

Alliston stifled Erin's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Alliston also got points from Joe Cochrane, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Mackenzie Flewelling, who also had one goal and one assist. Jackson Arcan also scored for Alliston. In addition, Alliston received assists from Ryan Sallows, who had one and John Gage, who had two.

The Shamrocks' offense operated below their season average. Erin averages 3.1 goals per game.

Mike Masucci rejected 18 shots on goal for the Hornets. Alliston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Shamrocks' Mark Terry stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Erin incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
