Penetang erases deficit to stun Caledon, 3-2

The Penetang Kings rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Caledon Golden Hawks.

Penetang never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Kings trailed 2-0 after a goal by Caledon's Matt Magliozzi at 17:45 in the first period. Penetang knotted things up at 2-2 on a short handed goal by Dallin Blunt at 1:19 in the third period. The Kings got the game winner at 14:38 in the third period on a goal by Blunt.

Penetang was sparked by Braeden Dorion, who racked up one goal.

The Kings' offense rang up 41 shots on the Golden Hawks' net.

Penetang also got points from Callan Heins, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Penetang received assists from Matt Cochrane, who had two and Ben Sly, Matt Prucha, and Brad Kuepfer, who contributed one each.

Caledon's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Penetang power plays. Penetang was unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledon eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Golden Hawks were helped by Daniel Cafagna, who had one goal. Cafagna scored 15:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledon. Christian Mariconda assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were Jeffrey Ohashi and Nicholas McNutt, who each chipped in one.

The Kings' Andrew North stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Penetang incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brendan Macham recorded 38 saves for Caledon. The Golden Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
