Alliston pulls away in second, rolls over Huntsville, 7-1

The Huntsville Otters allowed the Alliston Hornets to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-1.

Alliston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 48 penalty minutes.

The Hornets were led by Joe Cochrane, who had one goal. Cochrane scored 54 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Stephen Nosad picked up the assist.

Alliston forced Otters' goalies to work all game long, launching 58 shots and forcing 51 saves. Connor Christanson made 51 stops and Jamie Gee made zero. The Hornets stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Alliston also got points from Nick Arcan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Nosad, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Alliston included John Gage, who had two and Will Ferguson and Jacob Tuck, who scored one goal each. More assists for Alliston came via Matt Hamilton, who had two and Mitch Livingston, Carson Gandy, Devon Gillham, Brady Martin, Andrew Ceolin, Mike Masucci, and Braydon Hogarth, who each chipped in one.

The Otters were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Huntsville surpassed its season average of 29.0 penalty minutes per game. The Otters excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Huntsville was held below its usual level of production. The Otters average 3.9 goals per game.

Nathan Zantingh also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Curtis Ballantyne, who had one.

Masucci recorded 22 saves for Alliston. Huntsville registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Team's Tanner Hamilton, Tyler Brown, and Cam Russell were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
