The Stayner Siskins failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Alliston Hornets shook off a number of penalties to win, 6-1.

Alliston was led by Devon Gillham, who had one goal. Gillham scored 7:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alliston. Mitch Livingston picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:12 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Hornets racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 18.0 minutes per game Alliston had been spending in the box. The Hornets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Alliston forced Stayner goalie Luke Aulthouse to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Hornets got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Alliston also got points from Stephen Nosad, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alliston also had goals scored by Payton Dunlop, Braydon Hogarth, John Gage, and Matt Hamilton, who scored one goal each. In addition, Alliston received assists from Will Ferguson, Jackson Arcan, and Ryan Sallows, who each chipped in one and Nick Arcan and Mackenzie Flewelling, who contributed two each.

The Siskins forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. Stayner surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. The Siskins' offense operated below their season average. Stayner puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game.

The Siskins were led by Kyle Lafreniere, who scored the team's only goal. Lafreniere scored 13:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stayner. Kyle Paulitzki assisted on the tally.

Tyler Brindle made 17 saves for Alliston on 18 shots. The Hornets registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Alliston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dunlop was ejected from the game. Aulthouse recorded 26 saves for Stayner. Team's Lucas Jeffery and Ryan Hudson were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
