The Midland Flyers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Stayner Siskins held on for a 5-4 victory. A goal by Kyle Sickinger put Stayner up 5-3 in the third period, but Midland pulled to within one on Matt Schieck's tally 18:02 into the third period. The Siskins forced the Flyers goalie Jake Norton to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Stayner was led by Ricky Darrell, who finished with three goals. Sean Healy also scored for Stayner. In addition, Stayner received assists from Kyle Lafreniere, who had two and Keenan McLaen-Hill, Jackson Clarke, Ryan Hudson, and Matt Hayward, who each chipped in one. Midland forced Siskins' goaltenders to work in net, taking 42 shots and forcing 38 saves. Luke Aulthouse made 20 stops and Sean Caulfield made 18. The Flyers were helped by Corey DeRose, who had two goals and one assist. DeRose scored the first of his two goals at 32 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Midland. Tully Jackson picked up the assist. DeRose's next tally made the score 2-1 Midland with 15:08 left in the second period. Tyler Simmons provided the assist. Midland additionally got points from Simmons, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Midland came via Noah Bray, Evan Buehler, and Jake Walter, who contributed one each. The Siskins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Norton rejected 30 shots on goal for Midland. The Flyers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
