The Huntsville Otters tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Stayner Siskins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-5. A goal by Kyle Lafreniere put Stayner up 6-3 in the second period, but Huntsville pulled to within one on Curtis Ballantyne's tally 8:44 into the third period. Lafreniere was all over the ice for the Siskins, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Lafreniere scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stayner. Stayner had gotten the advantage when the Otters' Ty Traynor was sent off for holding. Sean Healy picked up the assist. Lafreniere's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Stayner with 2:11 left in the second period. Keenan McLaen-Hill assisted on the tally. The Siskins' offense rang up 32 shots on Huntsville's net. Stayner surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Siskins average 3.7 goals per game. Stayner struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 30 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. Stayner also got points from Kort Weir, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Isaac Swanton, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Stayner included Lucas Jeffery and Kyle Paulitzki, who scored one goal each. More assists for Stayner came via Jordan Taylor, who had two and Mike McGuire and Ricky Darrell, who contributed one each. The Otters were helped by Josh Zantingh, who registered two goals. Zantingh scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Huntsville had taken the advantage when the Siskins' Jeffery got sent off for roughing after whistle. Jared Stevens picked up the assist. Zantingh's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Huntsville with 7:54 left in the first period. Huntsville additionally got points from Ballantyne, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Jake McIntyre, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Andy Baker, who had three and Tyler Kalbe and Kyle Burns, who each chipped in one. Sean Caulfield rejected 24 shots on goal for Stayner. The Siskins registered three goals on six power play opportunities. For Stayner, Jeffery was ejected from the game. The Otters' Jamie Gee stopped 26 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Huntsville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
