Lakefield downs Little Britain, 5-2

Colton Armstrong had one point to lead the Lakefield Chiefs to a 5-2 victory over the Little Britain Merchants.

Lakefield forced Little Britain's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 42 shots and forcing 37 saves. Cole Murdy made 21 stops and kyle tomlinson made 16.

Others who scored for Lakefield included Thomas Hoggarth, who had two and Travis Jamison and Aaron Vatcher, who each put in one. More assists for Lakefield came via Dalton Hill, who had two and Josh Duggan, Jordon MacLean, Riley Campbell, and Matthew McIntyre, who contributed one each.

The Merchants were helped by Marcus Everson, who finished with one goal. Everson scored 5:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain. Jesse Craig provided the assist. Phil Koufis also scored for Little Britain. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Keegan Cairns, who had one.

Johnathan Thain made eight saves before being replaced by Aaron Esposito, who took the win and made seven saves. The Chiefs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Little Britain incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
