The Woodstock Navy Vets' Justin Elms scored 1:26 into overtime to beat the Norwich Merchants, 4-3 (OT).

Woodstock pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Navy Vets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Woodstock's offense rang up 32 shots on Norwich's net.

The Navy Vets were led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who racked up three goals. Woodstock additionally got points from Elms, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Woodstock came via Tyler Arsenault, who had two and Chris Nauts, Austin Richardson, Chris Thompson, and Dan Haig, who contributed one each.

The Merchants forced Woodstock goalie Mike Harrison to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Norwich could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Merchants were helped by Zack Morrison, who registered one goal. Morrison scored 17:46 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jamie Kelly assisted on the tally. Norwich also got points from Adam Harris, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Norwich also got a goal from Brandon Velda as well. In addition, Norwich received assists from Riley Monture, who had one.

The Navy Vets' Harrison stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Woodstock registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Andrew Hawkins rejected 28 shots on goal for Norwich.
