Alvestad's big game bests Tavistock in 6-2 Paris win

Keegan Alvestad had two goals and two assists to lead the Paris Mounties to a 6-2 victory over the Tavistock Braves.

Alvestad's tallies came at 39 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Paris and 11:19 into the second to make the score 4-0 Paris.

Paris' penalty kill excelled, as the Mounties gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Paris was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 42 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game the Mounties had been spending in the box. Paris forced Braves' goalies to work all game long, taking 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Riley Collins made six stops and Ben Larder made 20. The defensemen of the Mounties were also effective in Tavistock's zone, and came away with two goals.

Paris additionally got points from Graham Evans, who also had one goal and two assists. Paris also had goals scored by Austin Sine, Brady Wheelans, and Mikael Ruffini, who scored one goal each. More assists for Paris came via Brett Wilson, who had two and Richard Brooks, Brodie Smith, Ryan Stephenson, and Garrett Kirby, who each chipped in one.

Paris was unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Tavistock eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Mounties' Davis McLean stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Paris registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For the Mounties, Alvestad and Jacob Norcott were ejected from the contest. The Braves ended with 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors. Team's Andrew Bogdon and Maverick Petrie were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
