MacLean, Seraphim lead Ayr over Delhi, 8-3

Behind two goals and one assist from Connor MacLean and two goals and one assist from Cash Seraphim, the Ayr Centennials downed the Delhi Travellers 8-3.

MacLean scored the first of his two goals at 9:17 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Ayr. Logan Beechey provided the assist. MacLean's next tally made the score 5-2 Ayr with 18:53 left in the third period. Quinn Diamond picked up the assist. Seraphim scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:45 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Harrison assisted on the tally. Seraphim's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Ayr with 14:33 left in the third period. Mitch Klie picked up the assist.

Ayr pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 66 penalty minutes.

Delhi was unable to stop the Centennials from sending pucks towards the net, and Ayr eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. The Centennials outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Ayr averages 5.5 goals per contest. The Centennials got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Ayr additionally got points from Klie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Harrison, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Seraphim, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Ayr also had goals scored by Cole Cummings and Sean Mitchell, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Ben Roelofson, who had two and Matt Harding, Jake Whibbs, and Jordan Pettitt, who each chipped in one.

The Travellers found themselves short handed often, totaling 70 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Delhi was led by Max Klunder, who registered two goals. Klunder scored the first of his two goals at 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jared Prekup provided the assist. Klunder's next tally made the score 2-1 Delhi with 9:32 left in the first period. The Travellers had gotten the advantage when Ayr's Nolan Ferris was sent off for tripping. Prekup picked up the assist. Chad Ingalls also scored for Delhi. In addition, Delhi received assists from Kelsey Van Ymeren, who had two and Nevin Guenther and Dylan Wales, who contributed one each.

Mitch Figueirdo recorded 22 saves for the Centennials. For Ayr, Seraphim was ejected from the game. Kodie Oude made 44 saves for Delhi on 52 shots. The Travellers registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
