Ayr rips Tavistock, 7-1

The Ayr Centennials were firing on all cylinders against the Tavistock Braves, and when the final buzzer sounded Centennials emerged with a 7-1 win.

Quinn Diamond was all over the ice for Ayr, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Diamond scored 19:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ayr. Jake Whibbs provided the assist.

The Centennials excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Tavistock was unable to stop Ayr from sending pucks towards the net, and the Centennials eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Ayr additionally got points from Ben Roelofson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Whibbs, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Ayr also had goals scored by Riley Clipper, who had two and Jackson White and Cole Cummings, who scored one goal each. More assists for Ayr came via Matt Harding, Mitch Klie, Connor MacLean, and Jordan Pettitt, who each chipped in one and Zachary Masterson and Tyler Harrison, who contributed two each.

The Braves' offense operated below their season average. Tavistock averages 3.3 goals per game. The Braves could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 25 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jackson Swindells rejected 21 shots on goal for Ayr. The Centennials incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Riley Collins made 32 saves for Tavistock on 39 shots. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Braedon Hancock was ejected from the game.
