Rowland lifts Tavistock over Delhi, 6-2

Angus Rowland had two goals to lead the Tavistock Braves to a 6-2 victory over the Delhi Travellers.

Rowland's tallies came on the power play at 4:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock and 1:05 into the third to make the score 3-1 Tavistock.

Tavistock forced Delhi's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 46 shots and forcing 40 saves. Kodie Oude made 35 stops and Rene Kloepfer made five. The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Delhi power plays. Tavistock bested its season scoring average. This season, the Braves average 3.3 goals per contest.

Tavistock additionally got points from Jacob Rooke, who also tallied two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Tavistock also had goals scored by Jared Yantzi and Garrett Schultz, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Andrew Bogdon, Jamie Shoemaker, and Joshua Schafer, who contributed one each and Mackenzie Sealy and Ocean Check, who each chipped in two.

The Travellers were led by Jordan Betzold, who had one goal. Betzold scored 17:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tavistock. Jared Prekup provided the assist. Delhi also got a goal from Nevin Guenther as well. In addition, Delhi received assists from Anthony Abele AP and Max Klunder, who contributed one each.

Ben Larder rejected 20 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Delhi incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
