Klie leads Ayr over Delhi, 12-1

The Ayr Centennials' Mitch Klie had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing five assists in his team's 12-1 win over the Delhi Travellers.

Klie beat Rene Kloepfer with a shot 5:04 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ayr. Cash Seraphim picked up the assist. Klie dished an assist on Nolan Ferris's goal that made the score 1-0 Ayr at 50 seconds into the first period. He then added assists on Seraphim's goal at 12:09 into the first, on Seraphim's goal at 18:58 into the second, on Seraphim's goal at 8:57 into the third, and on Seraphim's goal at 17:22 into the third.

Ayr's Mitch Figueirdo was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Figueirdo managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.41 prior to the game.

The Centennials forced Delhi's goalies to work all game long, firing 40 shots and forcing 28 saves. Kloepfer made 20 stops and Kodie Oude made eight. Ayr excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Centennials' goal total was higher than their season average. Ayr averages 5.4 goals per game. The defensemen of the Centennials were also effective in the Travellers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Ayr additionally got points from Ben Roelofson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Ferris, who also had one goal and two assists, Riley Clipper, who also registered one goal and one assist, Seraphim, who also grabbed five goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Brendan Schaefer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ayr also had goals scored by Jackson White and Cole Cummings, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ayr received assists from Zachary Masterson, who had three, Mackenzie Kemp, Quinn Diamond, John Nay, and Felix Lantaigne, who each chipped in one, and Matt Harding and Jordan Pettitt, who contributed two each.

Ayr was unable to stop Delhi from sending pucks towards the net, and the Travellers eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Delhi was led by Nevin Guenther, who scored the team's only goal. Guenther scored 11:41 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Ayr. Chad Ingalls provided the assist.

The Centennials incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Travellers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
