Woodstock rolls over Delhi, 5-1

The Delhi Travellers had trouble finding ways to stop the Woodstock Navy Vets, which beat Travellers, 5-1.

Jake Schneider was all over the ice for Woodstock, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Schneider scored 3:01 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Woodstock. Tyler Arsenault picked up the assist.

The Navy Vets were led by goalie North Davies, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Davies certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.77 entering the contest.

Woodstock found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Navy Vets average 2.8 goals per game. Woodstock cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. The Navy Vets struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

Woodstock also had goals scored by Jack Taylor, who had two and Chris Thompson and Dan Haig, who scored one goal each. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Dylan Wettlaufer, who had two, Austin Richardson, who had three, and Austin Whetham and Chris Jensen, who each chipped in one.

Delhi was led by Jordan Betzold, who scored the team's only goal. Betzold scored on the power play 15:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Woodstock. The Travellers had gotten the advantage when Woodstock's Jeremy Racicot was sent off for interference. Mitch Smythe provided the assist.

Rene Kloepfer took the loss and made 23 saves before being replaced by Kodie Oude who made two saves. Delhi incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
