A five-goal first period deficit cost the Tavistock Braves, which could not recover and fell to the Ayr Centennials, 10-1.

Ben Roelofson had two goals and three assists to lead Ayr. Roelofson scored the first of his two goals short handed at 5:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr. The Centennials were on a disadvantage when Sean Mitchell went off the ice for slashing. Cash Seraphim assisted on the tally. Roelofson's next tally short handed made the score 3-0 Ayr with 11:51 left in the first period. Ayr had gotten the advantage when Tavistock's Josh Borys was sent off for slashing. Jake Whibbs provided the assist.

The Braves were stymied by the Centennials' netminder Jackson Swindells, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Swindells managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.11 prior to the game.

Ayr stifled Tavistock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Centennials kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Collins made 46 saves on 56 shots. Ayr found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Centennials average 5.2 goals per game. Ayr's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Ayr also got points from Mitch Klie, who also racked up one goal and three assists, John Nay, who also had one goal and one assist, Seraphim, who also racked up two goals and four assists to lead the team in points, and Cole Cummings, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ayr also had goals scored by Aiden Matekovic AP, Tyler Harrison, and Felix Lantaigne, who each put in one. In addition, Ayr received assists from Mackenzie Kemp, Riley Clipper, and Brendan Schaefer, who contributed one each.

Tavistock's offense operated below its season average. The Braves put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Tavistock forced the Centennials goalie Swindells to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Braves struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Ayr to score four power play goals on seven chances.

The Centennials incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tavistock incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Team's Kevan Hadad and Jordy Schneider were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
