Paris rolls over Delhi, 8-0

The Delhi Travellers had trouble finding ways to stop the Paris Mounties, which beat Travellers, 8-0.

Brodie Smith had two goals and one assist to lead Paris. Smith scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. The Mounties had gotten the advantage when Delhi's Mitchell Graham was sent off for high sticking. Keegan Alvestad provided the assist. Smith's next tally on the power play made the score 8-0 Paris with 9:32 left in the third period. Griffin Heitshu picked up the assist.

Paris forced the Travellers goalie Kodie Oude to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. The Mounties surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Paris averages 4.7 goals per game. The Mounties' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Paris also got points from Austin Sine, who also registered one goal and two assists, Brett Wilson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Austin Kovrig, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Paris included Mikael Ruffini, Patrick Snell, and Tysen Willemsen, who each put in one. In addition, Paris received assists from Brady Wheelans, who had two and Mitchell Harvey, Jacob Norcott, Cole Corriveau, Zach Taylor, and Garrett Kirby, who contributed one each.

Delhi's offense operated below its season average. The Travellers average 2.4 goals per game. Delhi did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 13 saves.

Zach Shomphe made 13 saves for Paris on 13 shots. The Mounties incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Oude recorded 37 saves for the Travellers. Delhi incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
