Delhi falls to Norwich in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Delhi Community Centre Sat, Dec 26, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Brett Parsons gave the Norwich Merchants a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Delhi Travellers when he scored 30 seconds into the extra period. Norwich came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Merchants fell behind 3-0 after a power play goal by Delhi's Jordan Betzold at 10:43 in the second period. Norwich knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Brandon Velda at 18:17 in the third period. Derek Slaght and Zack Morrison provided the spark for the Merchants, combining for two goals and five assists. Slaght had one goal and three assists and Morrison also notched one goal and two assists. The Travellers were unable to stop Norwich from sending pucks towards the net, and the Merchants eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Norwich also got points from Velda, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Morrison, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Norwich came via Matt Dipaolo and Troy Lamoure, who contributed one each. Delhi kept Norwich's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Hawkins made 29 saves on 32 shots. The Travellers were helped by Jared Prekup, who registered two goals. Prekup scored the first of his two goals at 2:24 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Delhi. Chad Ingalls picked up the assist. Prekup's next tally made the score 2-0 Delhi with 17:09 left in the second period. Ingalls assisted on the tally. In addition, Delhi received assists from Joe Shaw, who had two and Jared Ebdon and Greg Tucci, who each chipped in one. The Merchants incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mike Harrison rejected 29 shots on goal for Delhi. The Travellers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
