Paris rips Burford, 5-2

The Paris Mounties had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Burford Bulldogs.

Brady Wheelans had one goal and two assists to lead Paris. Wheelans scored 13:00 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Paris. Tysen Willemsen picked up the assist.

The Mounties stifled Burford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs were unable to stop Paris from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mounties eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

Paris also got points from Austin Sine, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Griffin Heitshu, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Paris also had goals scored by Cole Corriveau and Patrick Snell, who each put in one. In addition, Paris received assists from Brett Wilson and Brodie Smith, who contributed one each.

Burford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Bulldogs' offense rang up 48 shots on Paris' net.

Burford was helped by David Denardi, who registered one goal. Denardi scored 13:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Hinde provided the assist. Tyler Mellish also scored for Burford. More assists for Burford came via Jesse Szabo and Anthony Van Looyen, who each chipped in one.

Zach Shomphe rejected 46 shots on goal for the Mounties. Paris ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For the Mounties, Richard Brooks was ejected from the game. Michael Black recorded 47 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
