Tavistock falls to Woodstock in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Chris Thompson gave the Woodstock Navy Vets a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Tavistock Braves when he scored 2:38 into the extra period.

Thompson had two goals to lead Woodstock to victory.

The Navy Vets' penalty kill excelled, as Woodstock gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Navy Vets' offense rang up 37 shots on Tavistock's net. Woodstock had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances. The Navy Vets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

Woodstock also got points from Jake Schneider, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Austin Richardson, Braden Hutchison, Tyler Arsenault, and Dylan Wettlaufer, who each chipped in one.

The Braves kept Woodstock's goalie busy throughout the game, and North Davies made 29 saves on 31 shots. Tavistock was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 34 penalty minutes.

The Braves were helped by Josh Borys, who tallied two goals. Borys scored the first of his two goals at 8:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Angus Rowland assisted on the tally. Borys' next tally made the score 2-1 Tavistock with 14:38 left in the second period. Tavistock earned a power play opportunity when Jacob Brown was put in the box for facemask. Jacob Rooke picked up the assist.

For the Navy Vets, Hutchison was ejected from the game. The Braves' Riley Collins stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced.
