New Hamburg hangs on, beats Delhi 4-2

Tyler Randerson scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the New Hamburg Firebirds held off the challenges of the Delhi Travellers in a tough 4-2 win.

Randerson provided New Hamburg with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:46 into the first period. Tyler Kleine picked up the assist.

The Firebirds got the win thanks to a great game by Kleine, who had two goals and one assist. Kleine scored the first of his two goals at 9:03 into the second period to make the score 3-1 New Hamburg. Ethan Adair assisted on the tally. Kleine's next tally made the score 4-2 New Hamburg with 3:32 left in the second period. Randerson picked up the assist.

New Hamburg's offense rang up 38 shots on Delhi's net.

New Hamburg additionally got points from Randerson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Colin Martin also scored for New Hamburg. Other players who recorded assists for New Hamburg were Andrew Boer, who had one and Jerry Ennett, who had two.

The Travellers were helped by Greg Tucci, who registered one goal. Tucci scored 15:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Szymesko assisted on the tally. Delhi also got a goal from Rhett Roney as well. More assists for Delhi came via Chris Spinello and Joe Shaw, who each chipped in one.

Tanner Topham recorded 19 saves for the Firebirds. New Hamburg avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Mike Harrison made 34 saves for Delhi on 38 shots. The Travellers ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
