Norwich downs Paris in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Norwich Community Center Fri, Dec 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Norwich Merchants pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Paris Mounties on a clutch goal by Ray Munro. Munro had two goals and one assist to lead Norwich. Munro scored the first of his two goals at 7:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Norwich. Zack Morrison assisted on the tally. Munro's next tally made the score 4-3 Norwich with 16:53 left in overtime. Andrew Lefebvre picked up the assist. The Merchants' penalty kill excelled, as Norwich gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Team could not crack Paris' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. Norwich additionally got points from Morrison, who also registered one goal and one assist. Norwich also got a goal from Jesse Dunn as well. In addition, Norwich received assists from Riley Monture, Troy Lamoure, and Noah Burns, who contributed one each. The Mounties were often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. Paris had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Mounties' offense rang up 35 shots on Norwich's net. Paris was helped by Ryan Stephenson, who grabbed one goal. Stephenson scored 4:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cole Corriveau provided the assist. Others who scored for Paris included Griffin Heitshu and Brodie Smith, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Austin Sine, who had two and Keegan Alvestad, Brady Wheelans, and Connor Purbrick, who each chipped in one. Andrew Lefebvre made 32 saves for the Merchants on 35 shots. Team's Brett Parsons, Lamoure, and Darcey Butler were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Hayden Padalino recorded 19 saves for the Mounties. For Paris, Richard Brooks was ejected from the game.
