Ayr boosted by Padalino's play in net, beats Woodstock 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Hayden Padalino helped the Ayr Centennials defeat the Woodstock Navy Vets, 2-1.

Ayr was led by Mitch Klie, who had one goal. Klie scored 19:11 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Ayr. Zachary Masterson picked up the assist.

The Centennials stifled Woodstock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ayr could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Centennials average 5.3 goals per game. The Navy Vets were unable to stop Ayr from sending pucks towards the net, and the Centennials eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Jake Whibbs also scored for Ayr. In addition, Ayr received assists from Tyler Harrison, Cash Seraphim, and Sean Mitchell, who contributed one each.

Woodstock put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ayr to score on any of its three power plays. The Navy Vets' offense rang up 31 shots on the Centennials' net.

Woodstock was led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who scored the team's only goal. Wettlaufer scored 5:49 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Chris Nauts assisted on the tally.

Padalino recorded 30 saves for Ayr. The Centennials incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Navy Vets' Jackson Swindells stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Woodstock incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
