Woodstock survives Delhi comeback, wins 3-2

The Delhi Travellers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Woodstock Navy Vets held on for a 3-2 victory.

Woodstock took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Delhi storm back on a Nevin Guenther goal 12:10 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Jack Taylor had a great game for the Navy Vets, netting two goals. Taylor scored at 13:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 6:05 into the third to make the score 2-1 Woodstock.

Woodstock excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Navy Vets' offense rang up 50 shots on the Travellers' net.

Dylan Wettlaufer also scored for Woodstock. Other players who recorded assists for Woodstock were Jake Schneider, who had two and Chris Nauts, Cam Leslie, Tyler Arsenault, and Jacob Brown, who contributed one each.

Jackson Swindells made 20 saves for Woodstock on 22 shots. The Navy Vets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Delhi's Mike Harrison stopped 47 shots out of the 50 that he faced. The Travellers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
