The Tavistock Braves and the Woodstock Navy Vets skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Tavistock and Woodstock could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Navy Vets to score on any of their six power plays. Tavistock forced Woodstock goalie Jackson Swindells to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Braves were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with seven minors and two majors for 24 minutes in penalty time.

Tavistock was helped by Ocean Check, who grabbed one goal. Check scored 19:39 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jared Yantzi provided the assist. Tavistock also got points from Jacob Rooke, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Mackenzie Sealy and Shaun Pickering, who contributed one each.

The Navy Vets' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Woodstock surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Navy Vets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Tavistock power plays. Woodstock kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Collins made 34 saves on 36 shots.

The Navy Vets were helped by Chris Jensen, who registered one goal. Jensen scored 9:32 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Jack Taylor assisted on the tally. Kolby Francis also scored for Woodstock. Other players who recorded assists for Woodstock were Cam Leslie and Dylan Wettlaufer, who each chipped in one.

For Tavistock, Pickering, Cody Bateman, Braedon Hancock, and Kieran Van Boekel were ejected from the contest. Swindells recorded 39 saves for Woodstock. Team's Austin Richardson, Austin Whetham, and Garrett Whetham were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
