The Woodstock Navy Vets and the Ayr Centennials skate to 1-1 (OT) tieWoodstock Community Center Tue, Nov 24, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Ayr rebounded from a one-goal deficit to tie Woodstock,. The Navy Vets were led by Brody Hunt AP, who scored the team's only goal. Hunt AP scored 10:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Woodstock. Dan Haig assisted on the tally. The Centennials put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Woodstock to score on any of its five power plays. Ayr could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Centennials average 5.5 goals per game. The Navy Vets were unable to stop Ayr from sending pucks towards the net, and the Centennials eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Ayr was led by Mitch Klie, who scored the team's only goal. Klie scored on the power play 19:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1. An interference penalty on Chris Jensen had put the Centennials on the power play. Riley Clipper picked up the assist. Jackson Swindells recorded 48 saves for Woodstock. The Navy Vets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Woodstock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Austin Richardson was ejected from the game. Mitch Figueirdo rejected 28 shots on goal for Ayr. The Centennials incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
