Woodstock boosted by Swindells' play in net, beats Tavistock 2-1

Jackson Swindells stood on his head and made 25 saves to lead the Woodstock Navy Vets to a 2-1 victory over the Tavistock Braves.

Woodstock was led by Tyler Arsenault, who racked up one goal. Arsenault scored on the power play 12:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Woodstock. The Navy Vets had gotten the advantage when Tavistock's Kieran Van Boekel was sent off for checking from behind. Jack Taylor provided the assist.

Max Racicot also scored for Woodstock. More assists for Woodstock came via Cam Leslie and Jacob Brown, who each chipped in one.

The Braves were held below their usual level of production. Tavistock averages 3.6 goals per game.

The Braves were led by Mackenzie Sealy, who scored the team's only goal. Sealy scored on the power play 43 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Tavistock had taken the advantage when Woodstock's Austin Richardson got sent off for checking from behind. Jake Wiffen picked up the assist.

The Navy Vets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Woodstock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Richardson was ejected from the game. Ben Larder recorded 27 saves for the Braves. Tavistock incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Braves, Cody Bateman and Van Boekel were ejected from the contest.
