Tavistock outlasts Delhi, 5-3

The Tavistock Braves and the Delhi Travellers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Tavistock made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

The Braves gained the winning advantage on a goal by Shaun Pickering 5:53 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Delhi was unable to stop Tavistock from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Tavistock also got points from Mackenzie Sealy, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jacob Rooke, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tavistock also had goals scored by Cody Bateman and Kevan Hadad, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Jamie Shoemaker, Braedon Hancock, and Kieran Van Boekel, who each chipped in one.

The Travellers were led by Greg Tucci, who racked up one goal and two assists. Tucci scored 16:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Delhi. Chris Baumen picked up the assist. Others who scored for Delhi included Jordan Betzold and Jared Ebdon, who each put in one. In addition, Delhi received assists from Brandon Szymesko, Dylan Wales, and Kelsey Van Ymeren, who contributed one each.

Tavistock's Riley Collins stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Braves incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mike Harrison made 32 saves for Delhi on 37 shots. The Travellers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
