Burford outlasts Paris, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Burford Bulldogs escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Paris Mounties.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jesse Brooks secured the win for Burford with a goal in the third period.

The Bulldogs were sparked by Brooks, who racked up one goal. Brooks scored 19:55 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Burford. Mitch Randell picked up the assist.

Burford stifled Paris' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs' offense rang up 42 shots on the Mounties' net.

Others who scored for Burford included Daiken Salsman, Anthony Van Looyen, and Tyler Hinde, who each put in one. More assists for Burford came via Jesse Szabo, David Denardi, and Nolan Ferris, who contributed one each and Jensen DaSilva and Scott Penwarden, who each chipped in two.

Paris forced Burford goalie Michael Black to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots.

The Mounties were helped by Cole Corriveau, who tallied one goal. Corriveau scored short handed 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Paris was on a disadvantage when Brodie Smith went off the ice for too many men. Keegan Alvestad also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Mitchell Harvey, Brady Wheelans, Griffin Heitshu, and Richard Brooks, who contributed one each.

Black recorded 55 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Mounties' Zach Shomphe stopped 38 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Paris incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
