Norwich outlasts Wellesley, 5-4

The Norwich Merchants and the Wellesley Applejacks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Norwich made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Adam Harris secured the win for the Merchants with a goal in the third period.

Harris had two goals to lead Norwich to victory.

The Merchants kept Wellesley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Noah Leis made 27 saves on 32 shots. Norwich was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 10 man advantages.

Norwich also got points from Jamie Kelly, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Norwich included Derek Slaght and Zack Morrison, who each put in one. More assists for Norwich came via Ray Munro, who had three and Daniel Rizzo, Riley Monture, and Troy Lamoure, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants were unable to stop the Applejacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellesley eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Applejacks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Wellesley finished with 38 penalty minutes.

The Applejacks were helped by Justin Lebold, who finished with one goal. Lebold scored 8:44 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Alex Uttley assisted on the tally. Wellesley additionally got points from Uttley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Wellesley also had goals scored by Nick Mercier and Nicholas Breault, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wellesley received assists from Jake Wilkinson and Cal Jefferies, who contributed two each.

Andrew Lefebvre rejected 28 shots on goal for Norwich. The Merchants incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Wellesley registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
