Wellesley downs Delhi, 5-2

The Wellesley Applejacks won 5-2 over the Delhi Travellers.

Wellesley stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Travellers were unable to stop the Applejacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellesley eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Applejacks were helped by Sean McEwan, who registered two goals. McEwan scored the first of his two goals at 59 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wellesley. Jake Wilkinson picked up the assist. McEwan's next tally made the score 4-1 Wellesley with 18:03 left in the third period. Cal Jefferies provided the assist. Wellesley additionally got points from Spencer Brick, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brady Gerber, who also had one goal and one assist. Wellesley also got a goal from Brenden Goran as well. In addition, Wellesley received assists from David Elford, who had one and Matthew Lantz, who had two.

Delhi put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wellesley to score on any of its three power plays.

The Travellers were led by Jared Prekup, who tallied one goal and one assist. Prekup scored 13:42 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Wellesley. Jared Ebdon picked up the assist. Chris Baumen also scored for Delhi.

The Applejacks' Ryan Porter stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Wellesley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mike Harrison made 32 saves for Delhi on 36 shots. The Travellers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
